The NÜWIEL eTrailer is compatible with:

For racing bikes, bikes with carbon frames, and other ultra-lightweight bikes, compatibility must be checked on a case-by-case basis. In these cases, We recommend checking with the bike manufacturer or contacting NÜWIEL directly.

Yes, the NÜWIEL eTrailer can be used with electric bikes including pedelecs, e-cargo bikes, and e-longtails.

NÜWIEL’s patented technology synchronises with your bicycle every millisecond to measure pushing and pulling forces. The NÜWIEL eTrailer neutralizes its own payload weight, so the setup remains fully compliant with the 250W limit and doesn’t affect the performance of the bike. As a result, riding the e-bike with the eTrailer feels almost the same as riding without one. The NÜWIEL eTrailer also works with non-electric bicycles.

NÜWIEL eTrailers conform to EN 17860, the latest European safety standard for e-cargo bikes and e-trailers.

Yes, the NÜWIEL eTrailer can also be rented for longer periods. Long-term rentals are arranged on an individual basis. Inquiries can be sent by email to rent@nuwiel.de.

Hourly rentals are available via the Use4Free app, where the NÜWIEL eTrailer Flex can be booked at selected locations in Hamburg. The first 3 hours are free; after that, the rental costs €9 per hour.

The NÜWIEL eTrailer Flex can transport up to 150 kg of payload. The loading area matches a standard Euro pallet (EPAL 1, 120 × 80 cm). When towing by bike, cargo can be up to 1 metre high and must be safely secured.

Yes, the NÜWIEL eTrailer is allowed to be used on roads in Germany, including when attached to an e-bike. It complies with legal requirements for pedelecs with 250 W motor speed of up to 25 km/h. NÜWIEL’s Zero-Force sensor technology ensures that the eTrailer neither pushes nor pulls the bicycle. This keeps the combined e-bike and NÜWIEL eTrailer system within the legal limits of 250 W and 25km/h. So no registration, license plate, or driver’s license is required.
